A plan for training to run a marathon based on increasing aerobic ability at an appropriate heart rate.
This plan provides a good base level aerobic ability and gradually improves through the duration of the plan. The principle of this program is to maintain an optimum heart rate whilst training to promote fat burning and use of glucose reserves in a healthy balance to concentrate on improving aerobic (as opposed to anaerobic) ability.
By building a good aerobic foundation, training will be easy to begin with but will increase in difficulty as your body becomes more efficient and able to perform better at the same heart rate.
