Since I set this goal, I have been back to see my family every month except one - pretty good really! I have loved spending time with them, and it is pretty easy to fit in when I have made the commitment to do it. It is so easy to lose touch, so this goal has been great for me. I am going to keep it as a goal as I want to keep doing this.

I have just spent the weekend with all my family - parents, sisters, grandparents, cousins. We all went away for the weekend, and I must admit I wasn't really looking forward to it, but I had a fabulous time. I really love them, but other priorities had come up and I had put them lower in my priorities. I really miss them a lot, and I have the feeling I want to go back and spend more time with them. Since this is not possible, I am going to do everything I can to see them more. I don't live in the area, and it takes at least 2 hours to get home, but I will make sure I go back at least one weekend every month from now on. There is no excuse for me not doing this.

I work in a high pressure job which demands a lot of hours of my time. I have always told myself that my family understood, but I am starting to regret the amount I have missed out on, and am feeling sad about how we are starting to grow apart.
I am going to make a real effort to see more of my family. I will be leaving earlier from work every evening, regardless of the consequences.

We used to the same when I was younger and it worked out fantastically - good luck with it.
After all, when all is said and done, nobody looks back and says 'I spent too much time with the people I love'. It’s usually the opposite.

I have spoken with my family and we will set time aside each Tuesday to be family night. We will make sure that we are all together and do something fun on this night. I have set up a plan to ensure I stick to this!

With work and other commitments I never seem to get enough time to spend with my family.
