"I completely changed my spending habits"
How I did it
I think I am qualified to complete this goal, as I achieved my goal of saving $10,000 in 2 years.
You have to adopt a real money saving attitude - I cut down on all unnessary spending - I stopped drinking takeaway coffee and bottled water, I ate out less, I found forms of entertainment which cost less (and were ultimately more rewarding). For everything I bought, I spent a little longer comparing prices, and often found I could find much cheaper prices by buying online.
I cut spending in all areas, and every month I put all left over money in my savings account, and didn't use this for anything.

Tips & Advice
I like being kind and generous, and at first I was worried that I could not be so generous if I was saving money. However, I found that there are a lot of ways of being generous without spending money - and these are often far more appreciated. I volunteered for charity work rather than donating, I made gifts for friends, I picked them flowers.
I also found cheaper forms of entertainment - I inveted my friends around for drinks rather than going out, I had picnics and went for walks on beaches. These were ultimately far more rewarding than some of the more expensive forms of entertainment I had before.
