Fortunately, my new flat has a bin area especially for all recycling (different bins for different types of recyclable waste). Basically, it is all sorted separately and now about 90% of our waste is recycled!!
Everyone should have easy access to an area like this.

I have been meaning to recycle for some time now, but have never really been dedicated to doing it properly. This is shameful on my part part, as it is so easy for me to recycle. The local council gives us bags to recycle, and all I need to do is separate out trash which can be recycled from regular trash, but I don't even regularly do this.
As a first step, I will commit to sorting all regular landfill waste from recyclable waste, and putting them out on the relevant days for separate collection. I am going to buy 2 separate bins this afternoon to help me do this.
