New friends from work!

Sian85's picture

I have recently started a new job and I have met some really cool people there, and they are mostly a pretty social crowd! I am really enjoying it as we go out for drinks regularly, at least once a week, and I am developing some strong friendships.
Great news for me, and a great step forward in my goal!

A new group of friends

Ross's picture

I can say that I now have a really good group of friends for the first time since I moved here about a year and a half ago. They mainly came from the the running club, and I also made more of an effort to go out with people from work, inviting them for drinks after work etc. It took me a while but I am starting to build a small group of good friends.
Good progress, but my group of good friends is still smaller than I would like it to be, so it is still my goal to continue to build it - however now I really know it is possible and I believe in myself to do this.

Dive meetup

Dyer's picture

I recently joined a dive meetup group (I love diving) and went on a dive trip with a group of six people. It was great for me as I love diving, and the time that was not spent diving was spent hanging around with the guys in the group, and I had a great time with them. I am going to go along to a lot more of these events, and see what other meet up groups I can join.

Old friends are going out less

Benji23's picture

I have always loved going out and doing things, and I have come to a stage in my life where a lot of my friends seem to be settling down with girlfriends etc, and seem to be going out less. I am still single, and would like to be going out a lot and meeting new people, so I want to find a group of new friends who like to go out and do exciting things.

It is my goal to get out there and make a great new group of friends.

Doing well so far

Ross's picture

I have found a new activity which I love - running, and have joined a club where I do this twice a week. It took me a while to get to know people there, but after a couple of weeks the conversations started getting easier and easier and before long I found myself going out with them for drinks and making other arrangements to meet up. I am pleased with my progress here so far!

I have decided to make new friends

Sian85's picture

I have recently come to the conclusion that my existing friendship base is not really right for me any more. We always seem to do the same things, we don't do exciting things, and no-one really seems to want to. I want a group of friends which will inspire me, will encourage me to do new things and develop as a person.
I hope this doesn't sound bad, as I love my exisiting friends, I just feel like I want more than they can give me.
I am going to make a list of all of my interests and join groups relating to these so I can meet like-minded people.

Make friends in my new city!

Ross's picture

I have recently moved into a new city and I don't have many friends here yet. My goal is therefore to make more friends in my area.
