"Passed!"
How I did it
The first step for me was to take the written test. This was not too hard - as long as you revise a bit you should pass with no problems - many of the questions were a matter of common sense.
The next step was to sign up with a driving school - I got lesson for my birthday which was really cool.
I took about 20 lessons before I was ready to take my test, but had a lot of practice in between with my dad.
I was very nervous on the day of the test, in fact so nervous that I messed up my parrellel parking. The examiner was really friendly and let me attempt this again as I was clearly nervous, which I managed to do OK. I thought I had definitely failed after that, but to my suprise he passed me!

Tips & Advice
Go with a driving school - I found the lessons were great for learning the basics of how to dirve, and they prepare you exactly for what to look for in a test which is really helpful.
Learning to drive - next steps
I have finally booked my driving crash course - it for 2 weeks in April next year, after which time I will take my test.
I need to ensure I have passed the theory test before this time.
My goal is to be able to drive by next May - Woo hoo!
