Healthier cooking

Since I have started to learn to cook, my diet has improved massively as I have complete control over the ingredients in my food.
I have selected a couple of healthy cook books and mainly cook from these - a lot of the meals are actually really tasty. I still need to improve and get into the habit of cooking these meals regularly as I am still tempted to revert back to my old habits of eating pre-packaged and junk foods.
I am really enjoying this goal so far, and it is certainly helping me with my other goal to lose weight. I am going to step up the gear now and commit to cooking at least 3 healthy meals every week.

7 dishes in 7(ish) weeks!

A while ago I set my plan to complete 7 dishes in 7 weeks, and I am happy to say I have completed this.
I started out basic, with some pasta dishes - all ingredients being fresh. This may sound simple, but it is a massive improvement for me!
It all started well, so I go more adventurous and by week 4 I had made a thai green curry (from scratch) and a sheppards pie! Even more of a surprise was that they weren't that disgusting! I only had one disaster, when I was cooking paella and all the rice got so stuck together that it was not enjoyable to eat, but I think I learnt from this and am certainly improved.
So, now I know that my previous assumption that food is repelled by me is incorrect, I can actually do this.
I would not yet classify myself as a good cook, so I aim to continue with this goal until I am happy with my ability. I have set another plan to cook another 7 dishes in 7 weeks (on Thursdays).

Healthy cooking essential for my weight loss

Another one of my goals is to lose weight, and I have come to the conclusion that a large reason that I am overweight is because I don't know how to cook, and as a result eat fast food and general junk.
I therefore think that in order to lose weight, it is important that I learn how to cook good and healthy food.
As a first step, I will buy a healthy cook book this weekend, and I will have cooked my first healthy meal by the end of the weekend.

Is food repelled by me?

I am terrible at cooking. Fact.
I could cook with someone else in the same kitchen, using the same equipment, the same ingredients, and even doing the same things at the same time and theirs will taste good and mine will taste bad. It is as if the food is repelled by me.
However, I know that practice makes perfect, and I really want to be able to cook I would love to have a family one day, and I need to be able to offer them more than beans on toast.
So I have set my goal (and even a plan!) to learn 7 dishes in 7 weeks!
