How I did it I had been consistently late for work for a couple of years, but nothing forced me to change this until I had to cover for my boss when he was away on medical leave (it meant I had to be in at 8am each morning!) I started getting up an hour earlier than usual (eventually going be bed an hour earlier too). It meant that I was up before the rest of my family which also made things a lot quicker as it meant I could eat breakfast and get ready without talking to them. I have been doing this for over 2 months now, and it is getting easier and easier now I am in a routine. My boss is due back next week but I plan to continue with the early mornings, it makes me feel a lot more productive and valuable.


Tips & Advice Choose the clothes you will wear the night before, and iron them etc if you need to. Also, set back up alarms in case you don't hear the first one - it is useful to put them away from the bed to ensure that you get up to turn them off.
