Different things to different people

Hemmer's picture

This means different things to different people. For me, this means being able to have enough money to do what I choose to do, not what I feel I have to do to get by.
This is a fairly long term goal for me, and I want to achieve it in the next 10 years.
As my first step, I am going to find work that I love to do, as I feel that naturally I will be more successful in this field.

What financial independence means to me

I think it is important to first define what this means to me.
In my life, I have always been dependent on other people in some way or another - be it emotionally or financially. I really aim to get rid of all of these dependencies this year.
In terms of financial independence, I would like the following:
- To be employed with a job I love, earning enough money to support myself, to live by myself or with friends, and to live the lifestyle I would like to live.
- To have a savings account into which I make regular payments. I want this to have enough for me to live at least 6 months without working.

In the future I would like to have more independence in a lot of ways, but financial independence is a great first step.

Financial independence

Financial independence, for me, means that I have the money to allow me to do what I want to do when I want to do it.
Right now, it is just about my largest goal.
What's more, I know I am going to achieve it.
The first step, for me, is to ensure I adopt a wealthy mindset.
